Personal Care

Less effective and more effective scenarios showing personal care, including individual and professional perspectives

This training video has been created with National Star College, featuring staff and former students.

In this training video, staff members John and Kirby are giving personal care to Chelsea. First, you’ll see a less-effective scenario, with plenty of opportunities for professional practice to be improved. Then you’ll watch a more effective version of the same scenario, where small changes have made a big impact to the quality of care and support. After this, listen into Chelsea, John and Kirby as they discuss what happened and share their thoughts about ways to give respectful support.

Alongside this video, we have a resource pack you can download containing a range of questions designed to support your ongoing professional development. It’s perfect for staff meeting training sessions or to complete on your own.
