Topic: Understanding Co-Regulation

Co-regulation is when a person supports another to regulate their emotions through calm presence, connection, and consistency.

When individuals become distressed or overwhelmed, they may struggle to self-regulate. In these moments, the nervous system relies on external support.

Use this resource to explore ways to co-regulate with others, to promote feelings of safety and encourage the development of self-regulation strategies.
