Emotionally Based School Avoidance, or EBSA, refers to a set of circumstances where a pupil feels unable to attend school due to overwhelming feelings of anxiety and distress.
Rather than thinking of EBSA as an outcome, we can instead think of it as a gradual process that eventually leads to non-attendance.
