Staff Meeting in a Box: Trauma-Informed Support

Understanding how prior experiences can influence our emotions and behaviour.

This ‘Staff Meeting in a Box’ contains a slideshow presentation and accompanying resource pack. Each includes key information, questions, activities, reflection points and links to further reading.

Use the slideshow as a structure for your staff meetings. It’s helpful if you are able to display the slideshow for everyone to see. Print the resource pack for everyone to complete during the session.

Topic: Trauma-Informed Support

Trauma is the result of an event, series of events, or set of circumstances that is experienced by an individual as distressing, harmful or life-threatening.

While we may not be able to ‘fix’ individuals’ trauma, understanding how previous experiences affect a person’s thoughts, feelings and behaviour enables us to offer trauma-informed support.
